Book fairs

Does anyone have experience with book fairs? I'll be displaying at my first week this coming weekend (West Hollywood) and am curious as to what to expect and how to make the most of it.

Congratulations Dawn! What a great opportunity. It is all about exposure and building relationships and making contact. As an owner of a bookstore I attend many book fairs. Some details depends on the publisher--ask them if they made the arangement for you. Some authors are asked to give a seminar during the book fair and also have a table with a display of their books to sell and sign. It is like do a book signing but there is a lot more activity around and more competition because nearly every publisher will have some of their authors on show. Best to you and wish you success!
