The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I have recently been looking at online book catalogs and the process of how books get into them. Are online catalogs beneficial and should it be easier to get books listed in them than is currently the practice. I am considering creating a free online book catalog through my web site. This would be for any author who is considered to be family friendly. I would welcome any comments on the subject of online book catalogs and if another online catalog would be beneficial. I feel that any exposure for authors is a good thing especially if it has the potential for selling more books. If you are an author who has a link to purchase your book (s) on your site, if you have one, either from yourself or your publisher and feel you are family friendly send me an email on this site.

This is a great idea! There are main two reasons for online book catalogs: 1) they give you exposure for your book AND give you links to help with search engine ranking; and 2) they give people another way to buy or find out about your book. I'd love to contribute to your catalog, let us know how. Also, you should probably get an Amazon Associate account so that you can get a little credit for anyone that buys books through your catalog.

Also, there are several others out there that are free. I don't know if they generate sales, but they do give you links and put your book out there. A couple that I know of are: www.published.com, www.bookhitch.com, www.authorzone.com, www.authorsden.com, www.authorpromote.com, www.bookzen.com, www.slake.com, www.listal.com, www.discoverabook.com. Some of these will only take one title, then ask for money to list more. Others let you put up as many as you want for free.

Thanks Peter,

I will check out the other sites and I already have an associate account with Amazon but have not done anything with it. When I have the mechanism created for my web site for an online book catalog I will post it on this site so others will know about it and how to contribute.
I have a few pages of my online book catalog published on my site. There is a link to it from my index page. I have several authors from this network in place and would like more. If you would like to be considered to have your book (s) listed in this catalog please send me an email. Your books must be family friendly. Basically it means no hate, violence, sexual or erotica. I will be continually adding books to the pages of the catalog.
