What aspects of book trailers do you and do you not like?

 

For example, I like ones that aren't too long (under 2 minutes, usually) but I usually dislike voice overs. Share your opinions and thoughts :)

I'm with you on both counts. I saw a trailer with nonstop talking that was almost 4 minutes long. BORING and ANNOYING.

 

I actually create book trailers for other authors. I started making them for myself and then started getting requests from others to do them. I cost half of what the typical companies do.

I think it depends on the narrator and whether or not the story being told is compelling enough to keep a viewers interest. Like Marlayne, I also create trailers at a relatively low cost and I try (albeit with limited technology) to emulate the trailers that are made to promote movies. I think I usually succeed but I would welcome some honest feedback. Here are a couple examples:
