Hello Sassy. My name is Fernando Sobenes and I want to invite you to read the prologue and the first two chapters of my novel: "The Evil Visitor" in my blog The Evil Visitor
In terms of my Twitter interview idea: Just write a script like I demonstrated on my profile. Then we tweet back and forth questions and answers. Just pick a day, and we can also jointly promote it. Hi Sassy, your page is very interesting. I have a new book The Journey comong out around the holidays.
I'd be interested in your comments about a short excerpt from my book. Doesn't Aidana WillowRavenhave great talent?
Here's the excerpt:
The first evening back in Banff and signing in with the rangers they
headed out of town to a campground. There was a young long haired man and his girlfriend who invited them to share stories and a snack. After an hour of socializing they offered the two to spend the night in their four-man tent till dawn. They were extremely friendly and the two liked them. They spent the evening having a good time telling about their lives, but when it came time to sack out Ben and Josh both decided to use their sleeping bags and sleep outside by the fire under the stars.” No problem, it’s your choice”, they said. At dusk there was rumbling and sounds of things being moved around.
Ben and Josh were sleeping foot to foot in their bags as to always keep an eye out for danger in any direction. Ben’s hand came out of his bag and was frantically pointing. Slowly turning his head Josh was startled to see a huge black bear about three feet from his head, sniffing the air. The bear was so close the individual hairs and moisture droplets on his nose were easily seen.
Josh froze in place until the huge black bear wandered off about fifteen feet. Any thoughts about defending himself from a bear went down the tubes after being so close and witnessing their power. Other large bears were coming out of the fog from the woods. One large one stood on its hind legs and grabbed a tree trunk, and then stood upright where he was looking up into the tree. Someone’s food bag was tied to a thick branch about 10 feet above ground. Now adult bears are not supposed to be able to climb trees, but, the bear hopped up the trunk grabbing it with all four claws and swiped the branch with his right front paw, and with a big crash the branch and all came down. What a powerful blow, the branch was almost the thicknesses of a car tire.
The bear dove into the garbage bag with relish, devouring everything in it.
On the other side of the campsite a bear was on its hind legs, front paws on the roof of a Ford van. It was shaking the van like a rocking carriage. He also got into their food which was up in a tree. The four people came out of the van shouting at the bear that slowly lumbered away. Then this one fool of a man picked up a large rock and threw it at the bear. It hit the bear’s haunches and flew by him. The bear spun in a three hundred sixty degree circle, came around after the turn and swiped the rock before it had completely gone past him. His open claws looked like small sabers. He couldn’t believe his eyes. It was incredible how fast the bear spun around. In about 15 minutes the bears slowly lumbered back into the woods, disappearing in the mist.
From the campground it was onto the road, for another part of the
journey.
