The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I'd like to start a new forum where people can talk about what's working for you right now in marketing your book.

I think this will help other authors to prioritize their activities if they can find out what's working for other people. This would be especially valuable to new authors.

I've share the hottest tool that I'm using right now. And that's Twitter. As you will note on the main page of this Book Marketing Network website, both my http://www.bookmarket.com website and this network have been rising in Alexa ranks (and visits) because of my use of Twitter.

I wanted to send my Press Release introducing my new book.

Here are a few comments by two of the recovering alcoholics in the book:

"I would tell doctors and counselors to listen to us.  We are drinking for a reason, but we can't stop on our own. What are we afraid of? What are we trying to hide, our insecurities, our short comings? Maybe we just don't like who we are sober and truly believe we are better people when we are drinking or using drugs. Most of all, treat us as human beings, not a disease."
"I was tired of getting sick, my hands shaking, my vision deteriorating, my nose bleeding, my bowls moving sporadically, not sleeping and feeling safe, along with the violence and running from many situations being paranoid to the point of staying home all day."

What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholic and Addict?

Rochester, MA, --Do you ever wonder why some alcoholics and drug addicts recover and put their lives together while others die from this disease?  What gives them the physical and mental strength to fight this battle and come out winning?  After losing her husband, Richard Lopes, and daughter, Lori (Lopes) Cahill of North Dighton, MA, from their addiction, Alberta Sequeira wanted some answers to help others who are locked in denial.

Ms. Sequeira is a four-time award winning author and motivational speaker who wrote What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholic and Addict.  It is a book of personal stories from thirty-four alcoholics and drug users from all walks of life.  Negotiating the ups and downs of the first few years of recovery contain numerous pitfalls which those in recovery must have the right kind of help with.  The best-intention of friends, family, lovers, and co-workers can be healthy supports or obstacles to long-term sobriety.  The honesty from the writers will show how childhood emotional wounds mold us into what we become in adulthood.

Addicts sharing their experience, strength and hope with others is something that only a recovering addict or alcoholic can do.  It is a unique gift.  Alberta wanted multiple substance abusers from all different walks of life to write, so there would be a higher rate of readers finding that right story relating to them and say, “That’s me!”

What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholic and Addict may become a learning process for family members to develop the awareness of what the substance abusers are asking for with their support system and recovery programs in order to overcome their addictions. The written statements are a start for all of us, along with doctors and counselors to understand the physical and mental pain alcoholics and addicts are battling.  Let us unite together as a family and society to combat this worldwide affliction.
What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholic and Addict is a conclusion to Ms. Sequeira’s other books, Someone Stop This Merry-Go-Round; An Alcoholic Family in Crisis, and it’s sequel Please, God, Not Two; This Killer Called Alcoholism.  She is now having fun writing her first fictional The Rusty Years and wants readers to know there is a lighter side to her.

Ms. Sequeira is director, producer and co-host to the NBTV-95 Cable TV show in New Bedford, Massachusetts, an Awareness Coach on "The Effect of Alcoholism on the Whole Family" and an educational instructor on her three hour workshop "Bring Your Manuscript to Publication."

The cover imparts what women, who make up 80% of Pinterest users, love about the site: luxury, beauty, and the color pink doesn't hurt either.

Here's the cover.    The book is 99 cents until  DEC 23

Hi John,

I am starting slow and I don't mind that. I am trying to get all I can out of The Book Marketing Network, but have only joined a few other sites besides this one. I am trying to focus on sites that are exclusive to books and more specifically-in the genres of fantasy, horror and science fiction.

So, no, I do not tweet. I am not linkedin and also not on facebook yet.

Your site takes a while to get going, but, again, I do not mind. I have made friends here. I am sampling books and short stories by many authors that write in my genres. Also, I like that there are groups to join that the individual writer can identify more closely with.

Thanks for making such a great place for writers and readers to get together,

4-LAN

You will find groups devoted to horror, thrillers, SFF, and novels.

Join in on those groups, and any discussion going on within them.

Thank you John.

I have joined Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction Writers, Fantastic Galaxies, Book Reviewers Needed and one other fantasy book group. I will check again to see if there are any others in horror and science fiction.

Thank you,

4-LAN

That's a good start. I hope you can some response from the group members. You might also blog your request. Blog posts are featured at the top of the front page so they get more visibility from other members.

That's a good idea. I will try that.

Thank you, John.
