The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hi everyone.

I have written a Young Adult/New Adult fantasy novel and would like to bounce chapters off of a group of young people to see if I've captured my intended audience.  Does anyone know of any such groups that may exist online and if so, would you mind forwarding the links?

I've submitted the first 3 chapters to a couple of writers' sites, but the members are mostly adult and not my target audience.  I really need to know if my novel captures the mind of a 15 - 20 year old.  Any other ideas would be more than welcome!

Thank you for your time,

Hi Jenny,

I haven't a clue how to help you except to tell you to search out blogs where people read and review books. You might find a Y/A blog or two in the mix. Right now I'm doing the same thing with a children's adventure fantasy book I just finished not long ago. I need to find kids 8 - 12 to read mine for feedback so that's a challenge. I normally write adult fantasy so I intend to do a search to see if I can round up anything like children's blogs, etc with a few willing readers. Maybe someone else will jump on here and give you more ideas.

Good luck,
Sunni
I would love to exchange works!

I have included my first 3 chapters. Please let me know what you think and be completely honest. My hide is pretty thick so don't be afraid of hurting my feelings. I need to know if this works. Is it believable? Do you want to read on? What would you change? From what you've read, would you want to read on? Would you recommend it to your friends? Basically, I'm looking at any kind of feedback, good and bad, from young adults.

Please send over what you have and I'll be happy to have a look. Just let me know what sort of feedback you are looking for.

Thank you for your help! ;-)

Hi Jenny,

I'll exchange links with you for feedback. I have a new children's book I just finished. I can send you Ch 1-3 also for comment. However, I don't know how to turn my Word doc into a link you can click. If you can help with that, I'll post it here. I'm going to download yours now and read it so I'll comment later tonight or tomorrow.

Nevermind, I think I figured out how to upload it. We'll see if this works.
