A True Transformation

Have you been waiting for your spouse to come to a knowledge of Jesus that will transform his life? Sometimes that personal revelation takes awhile... Read about Thomas in the Bible (John 20:19-29). I firmly believe in divine appointments. Thomas wasn't in the room when Jesus met with the disciples on the same evening He arose from the grave. Do you ever wonder why Thomas wasn't present with them?

Remember, this was the same Thomas that asked Jesus in John 14:5, "Lord, we do not know where… Continue

The question of creative writing versus creative marketing

Authors of fiction for the most part have a definite disadvantage when it comes to creatively marketing their work.

Speaking from personal experience I will be the first to admit that when I had completed my first book I thought that I had finally arrived... I was soon advised otherwise.

The Publishers and agents of today are people who deal strictly in what sells and makes money, long gone are the days when a book would be published because it has some moral… Continue

How to Market Your Book in Your Email Signature

As an author your email signature is a fantastic place to distinguish yourself and stand-out from the crowd of emails that your recipients receive. In fact, it's an excellent way to unobtrusively market your book to all your email recipients. Let's do the math about the size of this marketing opportunity ... if you send an average of 10 emails a day you've got over 300 opportunities a month to tell your email recipients (clients, coworkers, friends, family and vendors) about your… Continue

Red tail hawks and bountiful blueberries

Every year at this time I have a running dispute with the robins, cardinals, waxwings, and chicadees. Their point is simple enough. They are fruit eaters, and August is blueberry month in Michigan. The newspapers and restaurant advertisements back them up. I on the other hand feel that I am the landowner, I tend the bushes and keep them healthy and therefore I should be able to pick what I want. I have the full body of Michigan property law behind me.

Most years the dispute comes down to… Continue

Poem: Evening Sky

Gazing into a starry night,

I see a deep indigo sky

with perfect placement of twinkling light.

Stars reveal the expanse of time

from before the birth of humanity;

their existence came from dynamic energy

which was created by spoken word

that no man has ever heard.

Solitary spirit of awesome might

painted this heavenly canvas

with a flick of His hand and uttered thought.

Divine creation shared with you and me -

It's part of our heritage… Continue

Poem: Avoiding Hell?

Have you sealed your fate

with the rejection of Him?

Accept Christ now

before your life wears thin.

For in permanent separation

there's no God or peace -

Only continual torment and anguish

without any comfort or release.

Alone in the dark

as fallen angels without light,

you too will become a demon creature

lacking hope of spiritual sight.

Forget about Purgatory,

but make a decision today -

avoiding Hell can… Continue

Seasonal Fruit from an Author's Organic Garden

Seasonal Fruit from an Author’s Summer Garden

I have gardened organically for the last twenty years in Hertfordshire, England. When I moved into a house with a medium size back garden overgrown with blackberries, thistles and nettles I knew I must invest time and money. So, I decided to make my money work for me. Instead of concentrating on ornamental plants I planted fruit trees. I now have a wild plum tree, a cooking apple tree, three eating apple trees, two pear trees, two plum… Continue

Post 11; didn't meet my deadline, but I'm still having a wonderful time researching and learning

11th Post, Blog Book, Who Killed Emmett Till. Focuses on Mississippi Mau Mau, return of black WWII soldiers who become civil rights movement leaders -- Medgar Evers, Aaron Henry and Amzie Moore. Plus info on Nazi ties to Mississippi (Draper Fund). The source? A Rutgers University scholar, Dr. William Tucker, was unearthing sources of funding for academic research when he ran into a story about Mississippi that gave him a jolt.

Plus .. If pundit Pat Buchanan believes that black… Continue
