Are you afraid of things that are different? Willy isn’t. He loves to swim in the pond. In fact, he would like to swim more than anything in the world!
One hot day, Willie waddled down to the pond. Something was wrong! None of the other farm animals came with him. The other farm animals say there is a big, black monster at the pond! In fact, some warned Willy not to go to the pond. Willy doesn’t hear the warnings. Why? Willy is hard of hearing.
Everything looks so different at the pond that day. Even Slimy Fish is staying in the shallow water. He is usually in the deep water.
At the pond, Willy meets the big, black monster and finds out that it’s nothing to be afraid of. They even become friends!
This adorable story brought to us from Rita Hestand, shows even the youngest readers that people who are a little ‘different’ from themselves can be good friends.
