I have long grown tired of tradtional names, therefore, I began naming my characters after states, cities, towns, villages, and suburbs. I found it to be very interesting. My son is named Denver. I was fed-up with scratching my head over trying to come up with various names for individual characters.

I have no problem coming up with first names but its last names that always get me. So I let my husband give me the last name of all my characters. I tell him a little about the character and he comes up with the last name! He has no problem with that. Last week, as I was starting my new book "Town of Secrets" he just sat down and wrote a list of last names and under each name he wrote what kind of character should have that last name! Talk about a big help!!! He is very supportive and helpful when it comes to my writing! But coming up with names for characters is hard! I want to know how scifi writers do it! Becuase they come up with the neatest names!
