Book reviews exchange - writers reviewing other writers' works?

I'm publishing my 'Positively Quit! Manual' in March 2010 - right now I'm looking for avenues for reviews of my book. Would it be considered crooked if I agreed to objectively review another writer's book in exchange for her / him objectively reviewing mine?

Hi Cassius,

It wouldn't be crooked. It's called cross promotion, LOL! Authors do it all the time but make sure you secure a review from someone who has some clout. For example, try to get reviews from authors like, say Jeff Kremer or any other published author who has a platform. For instance, I do blurbs for many novelists because I am also a published novelist and I have been around for a while and visa versa. It's important to make sure the reviewer has some clout in the industry because that review will hold merit. You don't just want anyone to review your book because who the review or author is is what makes their opinion count.

Best Wishes!
