For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I have recently had my first fantasy novel, Whill of Agora published. Any thoughts or tips on audience building are welcome.

I'd suggest going to the "free" promotional bag.  Start with calling your local cable tv show, radio stations and newspapers.  See if they will interview you.

Call the libraries to see if they have any teenage days that the kids meet. Ask to talk and introduce yourself.  If you get a date, a few weeks before, drop off a poster (from a document) with a visable show of the product.  Have your picture and the book, date and time with the price of the book. Put a "small" synopsis on it followed by your website and email. Leave some business cards on the counter.

Study what is in your book that you can find to relate to the story at a "Dollar Store" to pass out to the buyers.

Call the schools to offer a talk on their quiet days. Again, bring the above info for them to display before your actual event.  Does you story have any leads into the problem in school, bullying, etc. If so, give a talk about it.

I hope this helps as a start!  Goood Luck.
