How long ?

The times are fast changing,
and men already losing their faith.
Everyone`s barely surviving by managing,
one wonders if the Armageddon has not come yet.
Everywhere the people groan,
bemoaning their plight,
their bellies hollow with hunger.

Ah, these fiery riots of religious contradictions,
and these frightful figures of birth explosions.
But how long shall we go this way,
just hovering at the brinks.
While the potentials for the forward thrust,
lie wasting in the stinks.

Now I hear our police,
blowing loud their trumpets.
Telling the world they`ve turned a new leaf.
While each day that creeps to a close,
life keeps turning more gangsterous here.

And indiscipline has grown so arrogant,
I look down the streets and I see men,
throwing away glowing cigarette stubs.
Without caring to stop,
and stamp them out.
Ah, this country !
