The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I started this group to help writers like me that haven't written their first book, published their first book and a place that pros and others could bring some insight that would help and or inspired "The Aspiring Author"
to the aspiring Author=what would you like to see? What do you need?
to the established Author=
what would you bring to us that would lead us to accomplish our goals?

Good morning;

I think whether we are published or not, we can bring 'food for thought'. My partner from my business, Brian Knight, has an awesome blog. He posts practically every day. It's called The New Author. http://the-new-author.blogspot.com/

I post biweekly on my personal blog called *Conquer All Obstacles*. http://www.gr5mom2.wordpress.com I mostly write articles about marketing and promoting, but I do have some under the top of writing.

Have a glorious weekend.

Jo Anne,
Thanks for your 2 links! I'm slowly but surely learning the field of promoting. I've been doing book reviews for other authors & post the reviews anywhere I can on the web. I also just got into author interviews which is fun. I still do work on my own writing & as I mentioned before, I'm just about to send out a PB. So, I really need to learn all I can on book promotion!
Ah, a woman with lots of energy. Way to go! I know my partner, Brian really enjoys author interviews. I wrote about him and his passions this week:

Frankly, don't know what I'd do without him. Just another true blessing from surfing the net and discovering this avenue of promotion.

You can discuss and describe your reviews on my Goodreads site:

There are 342 active members and tons of lurkers.

Please, please can you spread to other authors... if you can pass our Premium Promotional Services Cyber Bookstore to published authors that have their books at Amazon, Brian would be happy to display their book as another distributor for FREE:

Have a wonderful day and weekend;

Blessings;

Most of my writing opportunities came about as the result of being online. PCcrafter's CEO saw me answering digital questions on Scrapnet.com which was one of the first big scrapping communities and asked me to write for him, Scrapbook News and Review knew my work from online and from my books and my published was surfing the web one night and spent two hours reading my poetry on my MSN site. If I had not been sharing, I wouldn't have had the opportunities to share in published books and magazines.

I've also had fun creating some just for me books on Blurb.com and MyPicTales.com .
Have you ever used the clip art from PC Crafters along with the poetry?
i have gotten some of my best inspiration from the clip art.
Landa
I haven't used their clipart in the books(copyrights, etc) but I still use it on the site in my monthly articles and in scrapbooking.
I'm really enjoying creating my own papers and elements.
I haven't got the hang of digital. I do use Smilebox for some of my family things.
I just purchased Printshop elements 7. boy do i have a lot to learn with that.
I will have to look at the copyrights thing again on PC Crafters. I have not sold anything that has their clip art. are the two different, using it in your books as apposed to paper craft and selling it? I will check that out.
As a published writer and an editor, I feel the best thing we can do for the 'Aspiring Author' is to help with critiquing their stories and other works. As an editor, I know what editors look for in a story and can offer help in polishing an aspiring author's first piece of work. I might also suggest to all of the aspiring authors out there to try your hand at short stories before taking on the more difficult and long term project of a novel. It also looks good on your resume to have a few short story publications under your belt before you send off a query letter to a novel publisher. Just a few thoughts for everyone to ponder. Thanks.
This is a great site,I am so new to all this, but I have contacted a few publishers and 3 have come back to me to say they would like to see the full manuscriped, so I hope this is a good sign, It as been a long long long road,with quite a way to go . Suzy
If you will notice, the last date that Landa Daniels posted here you will notice a gap in time. That is not meant that it is not a good site or one that can't be used by all. But, the last I heard from Landa on several of our in common sites is that she was having some serious health problems. If you are unable to get enough supportive attention here, you can go to the main page or my page and possible find a place that is more active until Landa gets back on her feet. And Landa, if you are reading this, let your friends know how you are doing. Thanks everyone.

Until Landa gets back on line here is the main page for book marketing network, see you there.
