Just curious does twitter help anyone with promotion?

I think it does. I was also sceptical about Twitter, but found that by following the people who are relevant/important, such as agents, publishers etc, or else targetted potential buyers (depending on your audience) you can effectively spread the word. Daily hits on my site increased in a big way. Make sure you also post stuff of interest, not just info about your books. I follow people who have useful comments or who point me to informative articles.
