The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Reposting a thought I just had on my author page for "Becoming the Bride of Christ: A Personal Journey" Wanting feedback and ideas. . .

One kind of holiday marketing, is to do a "12 days of (your book)" and post blogs about 12 different concepts/things related to your book. My series' chapters all begin with a fairy tale-like story except for the first chapter, which is my own story that spawned the series. I could do this a few ways. . .

1) Feature 12 of the story segments except for my story and chapter 14's which will be featured on November 16th.
2) Post about 12 fairy-tale related things
3) Post about 12 bridal-related things
4) Post about 12 royalty-related things.
5) Post about 12 faith-journey-related things

What other lists could I add in relation to this series? Lists that you can easily pick out 12 items within? Which list would you enjoy reading about?

So what lists would you enjoy reading?

Marilyn Dawson;

Thanks for these helpful hints on marketing your book. I will keep this in mind.

Aaaaaaaaa. . . I'm not merely sharing an idea. . . but asking what others would want to read about in relation to my series. . . I came  up 5 ways I could use this concept, but if anyone else has other ideas in relation to my series, I'd like to hear them. . . I can throw a 12-day list together easily enough, but if it isn't something anyone's interested in, then why bother?  I'm trying to find out what people are interested in. . .

I am having trouble getting ideas beyond the few lists I came up with, but getting lots of encouragement for having found this idea.  Of the concepts related to the book that would be easiest for me to fire off to bloggers, one stands out above the rest:

Each chapter of my series opens with a fictional fairy-tale-like story segment that culminates at the end of the series in Chapter 14, Volume Six.   In fact, Volume Six's featured excerpt next Friday will be the closing story segment of the book.

It occurred to me that people might enjoy reading these story segments.  The fictional segments begin with Chapter Two in Volume One, and seeing as Chapter 14's segment will already be shared, that leaves exactly 12 segments to share in a "12 Days of (Your Book)" manner.  The 12th segment can refer to Next Friday's featured excerpt for those curious about how the story ends.

I just need 12 bloggers willing to feature fictional story segments.  If you know anyone, have them contact me?

I now have two bloggers on board.  I need 10 more before December 13th.  If you know anyone interested in being part of this, get them in touch with me?

I have five bloggers down officially, waiting to hear on a couple who might be interested but who haven't confirmed yet, leaving the need for 7 confirmed bloggers for this story-telling blog tour leading up to Christmas! If you know anyone who would be interested, having them contact me?

December 10th and still looking for 6 more bloggers to feature fictional story segments from my series as we lead up to Christmas.  If you would like to participate, please contact me before Tuesday night so that I can slot you into one of the 12 days.  Thanks in advance.
