The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I am taking on a new challenge that I am really excited about, but I am asking for help and input from you all. Inspired Author is being revamped and reworked, and I am going to take over as moderator. My goal is to make it one of the most dynamic sites on the web to bring together readers and writers in all styles and genres. I expect it to be a dynamic site, and this is where I need some input.
Here are my ideas for the site:
1. My goal is to start talking books - start promoting books - The new website will have 2 sections - one for authors - one for book Lovers
2. We are going to pay $2 per book review for books that are less than 2 years old, subject to editor review
3. We can have contests (insert imagination here!)
4. Because it’s a community to bring readers and writers together, I plan on bringing in guest bloggers and live chat sessions for discussion and educational/inspirational “brainstorming” sessions.
5. We are going to buy short stories at $25, $50, $100 a story, based on length and editorial review.
6. We are in the process of moving to a Wordpress platform so that it is easier to access and work through and optimize.
7. And we are bringing Topic Editors back, to cover topics including promotion, book reviews, writing tips, etc.

I would welcome any thoughts, comments, constructive ideas, and input on things you would like to see on a brand new Inspired Author. You can address feedback to me at: inspiredauthor.moderator@gmail.com.

I am really excited about this project, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Well, Ron, the venture sounds very good. I don't know how to help you, or advice to give, since I'm somewhat of a novice at being a published author. I will, watch, though, and read comments, and see what happens. How's That?

I have a good feeling about this. I'm already on wordpress (Wrinkly Writers gladyshobson.wordpress.com) and it is fantastic with stats. I'm on Blogsot too (Writing For Joy) Also xanga, My Space (Gladys Writes) and I have my Magpies Nest Publishing website too, which gets many hits. But the wordpress blog is my favourite to work — simple and with speedy feedback to be able to see which postings gets the most readers — very useful tool. I'll be in touch so uoi can keep me posted. Thank you for this.
