The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I've just begun a new blog: Dark Deeds: serial killers, stalkers and domestic homicides. My first post is up ... a domestic homicide. Each week I plan to add another post. I'm not a law enforcement person, but I've done a lot of research for my novels, which involve serial killers and stalkers. And I'm frankly very concerned about the amount of domestic violence in the U.S.

Additionally, of course, I'm hoping folks who go there will also sample my novels. Please do visit and let me know what you think!

I asked my publisher for some advice on marketing my book, Spellbound by Fire, which is being released Sept. 15. She said that blogs are one of the best marketing tools for writers available. Blogs encourage interactivity with readers and other writers. I have a blog as a writer page, and a blog specifically for the Spellbound series. I also have Twitter and Facebook which are also amazing marketing tools! My publisher told me that an online presence is an amazing way to market books these days because the internet reaches around the world and to many kinds of people who might otherwise not hear of your book. :) Good luck!
Hi Lavinia,  I'm on Facebook, but I'm not sure how much it does for marketing. Do you have a personal FB page, or a fan page for your books? I don't do Twitter, just don't have the time. I'm doing too many things already! :)  I already have a website that gets a lot of hits. I agree, the Internet is the way to go for marketing around the world.  Good luck with Spellbound by Fire.
I have a personal Facebook account just for me and keeping up with everyone, and I also have fan pages for both a writer's page and a page for Spellbound. Trying to accumulate fans on both is a tough sell but I'm getting there. I find Twitter is much easier for finding followers. People are more willing to actually network on Twitter, whereas people like Facebook more for fooling around and such. If you already get traffic on your website, then a blog should attract the same crowd of fans. :) And thanks.
