Help Needed

My name is Chris Glennon and I need help collecting some market research data from publishers and especially those who self publish. 

The data will be used to help refine the product and pricing model for SmartSymbols marketing platform.  SmartSymbols is a scalable marketing platform probably best suited for publishers who would manage marketing campaigns (i.e., time based, geoIP, etc).  However, we are working with self publishing authors and would like to develop that market.  Some example of self publishing authors using SmartSymbols include (click on the links to go to their website);

So, we need information on how publishers and especially self publishing authors determine their marketing budgets, marketing plans and how they choose a marketing platform (if any).
