Saving the world one book at a time

Books will be essential tools for meeting the challenges we face. So writers who want to write them should have both a sense of mission about writing them and a feeling of exhilaration about the tremendous opportunities our problems for writers.

I'm the co-founder of The San Francisco Writing for Change Conference which exists to help writers like you. M*A*S*H star Mike Farrell, who will describe his journey from actor to activist, and bestselling author Gay Hendricks will be keynoters at the second conference, Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17, at the Hotel Kabuki. The SFW4C is the first conference devoted to nonfiction books about any kind of change from the personal to the planetary, including the environment, politics, health, social issues, and spirituality. The theme of the conference is “Saving the World One Book at a Time”. New and published writers will be able to learn from authors, editors, and agents. They’ll get feedback on their book and pitch it to agents and editors. Registration is $395, which includes two breakfasts and two lunches.
