Something About Me and My Book:
My name is Lakishia Smith and I a native of Baltimore, Maryland. At the tender age of 9, I realized that I had a passion for writing and by the time I was 12 I’d already completed my first script, 32 poems and had begun jotting down ideas for a novel.

In 2005 I self published my first novel “What Ever Happened 2 My King”, and despite enduring financial hardship to which interrupted the marketing and promotion needed to reach the highest sales potential, I went on to sell numerous copies through word of mouth. “What Ever Happened 2 My King,” received favorable notice in the B-more area.

In 2006 I released my second novel “Life’s Pains Destiny’s Gain,” the highly anticipated sequel to “What Ever happened 2 My King,” and plan to release my 3rd novel by the fall of 2007.

About What Ever Happened 2 My King

Growing up in the Westport Projects of Baltimore, Maryland, Ieesha has seen the gritty side of the lives of those hustling drugs and trying to survive. She has seen the lives of family, friends and boyfriends taken away by violence and crime. In “WHATEVER HAPPENED 2 MY KING,” readers are taken on an up close and personal journey into a world where trying to live could mean death as they are shown the life of a young girl who desperately wants to find love; unfortunately, she searches for it in the wrong places.

From the disorderly relationship with her first love LA, Ieesha’s world was nothing less then a roller coaster ride. That is until she runs into a hustler from upstate, King Divine; the man of every girl dreams, unfortunately at the time she wasn’t ready for a King. King bails out without a word and that’s when Ieesha would forever long for his love.

“What Ever Happened 2 My King” is an urban novel that’s not afraid to get right in the reader’s face with the reality of people living on the edge, about a woman’s quest to find true love and a better life. It explores levels of human experience that go beyond the grit, the violence, greed and ruthlessness of the streets. What makes the story unique is the way that it reaches deep into the heart of Ieesha McFadden, a young woman who’s thrown into a lifestyle and an environment that chews up the weak and spits them out!!

About Life's Pains Destiny's Gain

Ieesha McFadden, from Westport Projects, located in Baltimore, Maryland has already proven to the world that it’s not where you’re from it’s where you plan to go; growing up in one of B-more’s most debilitated neighborhoods that holds very little hope of survival or success, this young heroine becomes a very triumphant novelist. Ieesha’s all grown up now, but does she finally possess the ability to make grown up decisions?

Holy Cow Lakishia. I started sweating just reading your synopsis--I'm afraid to read the whole book. Believe in yourself and your books and keep driving. If there is any consistency in the advice given by successful authors, it is KEEP AT IT--PERSISTENCE. I have found that true of life. We're behind you all the way. May it go well with you. What's up Lakishia? Sound very interesting, I will definietly pick up a copy. I didn't self-publish, I actually went through a publishing company. My book has be doing very well, especially at Barnes & Noble. Word of mouth really worked well for me too. But I also have been getting out and doing a lot of promoting. That's what really puts you out there. So I wish you much success. If anything that I can do or say to help. Give me a holla. Peace

I send you greetings of peace and love from the rest of the family. They, like I, are always with you and never leave or forsake you. The angels and the rest of us want you to know how precious you are to us.

When I agreed to give up my divinity and be born in the flesh, I did so very willingly. I looked forward to the time when we, you and us, could all be together and share in everything that is. I looked forward to loving you, hugging you, comforting you and encouraging you so that, when your life gets tough, you will feel secure and supported enough to face whatever you have to face. I looked forward to being the one you could rely upon unconditionally for that strength, comfort and encouragement whenever and however you need it.

Not only that, I looked forward to sharing with you that we created you to love you, and that we so hoped and desired that you would love us back. We want you in our life, and we love it when you want us in yours. It was so exciting when I could turn to my disciples and expand our relationship to include friendship and true fellowship. I offer that friendship and fellowship to you today as well, and I look forward to your inviting me into your life in that way.

You can see there are many reasons why I came in the flesh so many years ago. There’s more! I also wanted to set you free from thoughts and behaviors that hurt you emotionally and spiritually. If you were hurt by people or experienced hard times in your life and lost things like your health, relationships, or your way of life because of disaster or unemployment, I wanted to give you the tips and tools as well as the encouragement to recover emotionally and spiritually from who or what hurt you so you could have the kind of life I want you to enjoy.

Most of you understand why I sacrificed my life for you and what an act of love that was. It is my hope that this letter will help you understand how very much more my life and ministry were to accomplish. I look forward to expanding our relationship now and forever.

    Joyfully, Jesus
