Something About Me and My Book:
Have you ever been stressed out, moody, anxious, and perhaps suffered some physical symptoms of stress, such as a bad back or weight gain? As a former stressed out attorney, I spent years stuggling with these problems and desperately seeking a solution, and wrote a funny book about the solution I finally found. The book is "Where Are My Ankles? How Iyengar Yoga Rescued Me From Stress, Fear and a Very Bad Back". The purpose of the book is to help people decrease their stress and improve their health by giving them a good laugh and inspiring them to to begin a yoga practice. Both the book and my website include a free yoga class coupon honored at yoga studios nationwide to help people get started.

Actually, I discovered yoga by accident when I was attending law school. After the first week of law school, I wanted a way to de-stress a little, and went to a party at the student lounge. Much to my dismay, I discovered the way that people were handling their stress was to engage in beer chuggning contents. That was not for me. I wandered out for a walk, and found a sign that advertised free yoga classes. I started taking yoga classes and found that they helped a lot. Many of my friends in law school and practicing law turned to alcohol, tobacco or even cocaine to help them through the stress. I consider myself very fortunate that I found yoga and wrote my book of funny stories to inspire people to consider yoga as an alternative to self-destructive behaviors. My husband also says that I'm much easier to get a long with after I go to a yoga class.

    Hey Deborah,

Thanks. I really enjoy what I do and hope to expand my business. I have developed workshops throughout several communities and the students have really grown from the classes. Self-esteem is so important. If we learn to trust and believe in ourselves then everything else falls into place rather nicely.

I submitted my stories to www.chickensoup.com and out of thousands of entries mine was choosen for Chicken Soup For The Kid's Soul 2 . Then, I became inspired and submitted more and I was published in, Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul and Chicken Soup for the Child's Soul. It's very exciting.

Check the site out and go under story submissions and they will give you guidelines. Good luck.

    Have a nice night,
    Michelle
Great to be networking with you too!

    Hi Michelle:

Congratulations on your success with Chicken Soup for the Soul! And thank you so much for answering my questions. I will check out the Chicken Soup for the Soul website. Also, I went to your blog and found the information you posted there on marketing very useful. I am really a novice at this, so your advice and comments are really appreciated.

I wish you continued success. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

    Best wishes,

    Deborah

thanks for your comment....will check out those websites. I don't have any reviews on my latest book, A Mothers Torment although I've tried contacting a few people who do reviews. I know they are supposed to help in the sale of the book and I had a trailer done on it, which hasn't so far seemed to help much. Perhaps I'm not getting enough traffic to the websites. That's probably it. But I submit them to the engine submitter so not sure what the problem is. SHirley

I checked amazon and couldn't find anything about reviewers on there....so I don't know where to find them. My book is non fiction....
