When I was a child I loved to write stories. Many of them were, of course, childish, but nevertheless imaginative and almost always fantasy in nature that involved some weird creatures on a far away planet in a far away galaxy. More than fifty years later I picked up my pen - well actually a computer keyboard - and wrote my first novel: The Hickory Factor. I was spurred on by a friend and author, Sallyann Sheridan, who gave me the confidence and encouragement and so I began to type without really knowing where my story was going. She had said, 'Write about what you know.' So I did, but being a huge fan of contemporary thrillers I really wanted to emulate my heroes: Lee Child, Gregg Hurwitz, Linwood Barclay to name just a few. So I ventured into unknown territory - for me - and The Hickory Factor is the result. Probably not in the same league as these illustrious writers but a good read regardless, so I've been told. It is available as a self-published download for the Kindle from Amazon.co.uk. If you read it, I hope you enjoy it.
