Something About Me and My Book:: Darlene Wierski-Devoe is a certified Life Coach, owner of Talk, Breathe, Live and the founder and publisher of the “Raising Socially Anxious Children” blog. She specializes in creating balance and wellness for parents and families who struggle with mood and anxiety disorders. As a result of her own experiences with anxiety – and those of her children – Darlene has created an ever-evolving community where parents and caregivers can find support, resources and inspiration.

Darlene continually strives to bring awareness, advocacy, understanding and acceptance to the forefront so that children with mental health issues are able to thrive. It is her hope that all children have a voice and are empowered and that parents can freely share their experiences so that we can all help to raise our amazing children.

Darlene's book "Just Like You" is part of a project to help children with “invisible needs” by educating their classmates to surround them with a village of support. The book is told from the perspective of a young girl struggling with “the anxiety monster”. The purpose of the book is to teach children and adults alike not to give up on these kids; to keep asking them to play, or to join in, or to be a friend.
