Something About Me and My Book:: Hi! My name's Emily Kinney, and I'm a 21 year old author from Maine. I've wanted to be a published author literally my entire life, and in May of 2011 I got that opportunity. The book I had published is one that I originally wrote when I was fourteen and have been trying hard ever since to get to where I am now. The book is a teenage romantic comedy about a fourteen year old girl named Milo Hestler. She sassy and opinionated, and her only friend is her conscience, whose name is Bob the Conscience. In an effort to attain some peace and quiet away from her parents and cruel classmates, she attempts to fly to Australia for summer camp. On the way, however, she is forced to abandon her plane and jump, alone into the ocean. An injury causes her to black out, and when she wakes up, she discovers that she was rescued by a cute boy. He, the boy, can't speak English, and Milo accidentally says Yes when he proposes to her. When she learns what has happened, she is outraged and wants to call it all off. She is then menacingly informed that this particular island is governed by certain laws, that will be obeyed, even through force. Horrified at this injustice and the fact that she must remain engaged to a perfect stranger, Milo's anger turns into hatred for her new fiance, Simon. Simon, though, is overjoyed and obviously cares for her. His love and her hatred collide, as tropical breezes ruffle the palm fronds.
