Something About Me and My Book:
TOMORROW`S CHILDREN

Introduction.

My purpose has been to write a series of exciting tales for the youngsters of today, awakening in them a positive attitude towards dealing with the problems that they will inherit. The first three books have now been completed and are aimed at the market opened up by J K Rowling`s work.
`Tomorrow`s Children’ and its sequels are different however, using (mainly) extrapolations of some current scientific theories, rather than magic. The stories demonstrate that there could be a better future for the human race and suggests what this might be like and how it might be achieved.
It is essential that the tale grips the reader from the first page and continues to surprise as the story unfolds.

General Background

The action is set in 25th century Spain. During the previous four centuries most of humankind`s problems have been solved by the intervention of the Ells, a wise humanoid race. Apart from a handful, these have now left Earth so that humans now regain total control of their own destiny.
A few young half Ells are allowed to remain on Earth to counter the threat of any action by power hungry dissidents, who have stolen secret Ell technology. The story is centred on Yani, a young, apparently orphaned, gypsy boy, unaware of his heritage. Character development of the various protagonists drives the plot, which deepens throughout the trilogy
A series of new concepts and inventions is woven into the story, but without indulging in excessive explanation.

Brief outline.

Aided by the awakening of abilities he doesn`t understand, Yani, just fourteen, escapes from Polonia where he has been held for several years by a group of thieves.
Reaching the south he finds friends, his heritage and a mission that involves him and his new friends in great danger. As the tale progresses these dangers escalate towards a climax in the Pyrenees.
Finally, with his 15th birthday approaching, Yani discovers much more about the Ells and their own distant world.
