K C Morgan is a writer of stories, some of which people actually like. She used to be a musician until she was a lawyer. She gave up the lawyering business to concentrate on getting her head full of stories into print with the immortal words, "how hard can it be?"
A year later, having consumed an ocean of coffee and an amount equivalent to the weight of Idaho in chocolate she emerged into the light clutching her first novel M-World: Outbreak in her trembling hands and the words "oh my god THAT hard?" on her lips.
KC Morgan lives in the UK surrounded by cats, Boerboels and that wikki wikki sound associated with 70s jazz funk records. She is busy writing the second in the M-World series and planning a detective novel which may contain a nine foot tall Ogre, a goblin who thinks he's Sam Spade and the dead concubine of a tyrannical Overlord, or not.
M – World: Outbreak
Dante Smith is an innocent man, framed for a terrorist outrage he didn't commit. After discovering a secret kept hidden and ruthlessly suppressed for two thousand years - magic is real - he escapes London just hours before quarantine seals the city.
For those caught up in the chaos, every day is a struggle simply to stay alive. The innocent, trapped between roaming gangs of scavengers and "the touched" - once friends and neighbours but now altered and wielding incredible but deadly powers.
As Government finally abandons the City and retreats behind a massive concrete and steel wall, a seventeen year old boy, and his damaged seven year old sister, begin a perilous journey to a far-away haven.
Along the way they find death, disease, madness and magic, friendship, family and a reawakened destiny for the entire human race.
M-World, Outbreak is the first in a dark fantasy trilogy by K C Morgan nodding at the half glimpsed, secret worlds of Clive Barker, Mary Gentle, Neil Gaiman and Ben Aaronovitch. Worlds where the fantastic and the terrifying, the murderous and the miraculous wait around every corner. Morgan's London is a savage, blasted ruin where small pockets of humanity shine like beacons in the darkness but whether sorcerer, scavenger or survivor - time… is running out.
I am fairly new to this site and wondering how, if at all, it can be helpful. I've looked at authors and was interested in your book for a number of reasons - someone framed for something they did not do - sounds familiar to me! Secrets kept hidden? That's a recipe for disaster. Also - that you were a lawyer. Well, I would be interested in your comments on my autobiography. You don't have to buy it to gain an insight (although of course I do not deter people from doing that) but you can join my group on Facebook My Brother My Enemy to read all about it. Maybe you would like to be a friend?
