Something About Me and My Book:: Award-winning writer and closet stand-up comedian Laurie Boris has had her fiction published in small magazines and on the Web. Her contemporary mainstream novel, "The Joke's on Me," is set for release in July, 2011 from 4RV Publishing, Inc. She lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband, Paul Blumstein, a commercial illustrator.

When a mudslide drops her entire collection of impractical footwear into the Pacific, former stand-up comic Frankie Goldberg takes the only possession she has left - a cherry red Corvette convertible - and drives east to her family’s bed and breakfast in Woodstock, New York. But her sister Jude has put their ailing mother in a nursing home and is turning the equally ailing B&B into a holistic retreat. Frankie detests Jude, but for their mother's sake, she agrees to stay for the summer and help. Will Frankie ever consider her sister’s company to be anything but an obligation? Or will the lure of family—and a new love—prove stronger than her urge to bolt toward a fresh start in Hollywood?
