- Rancher, school teacher, writer. I have self published a young adult western, Toquop; Warrior Stallion, which recently won the 2008 Will Rogers Medallion award for best western novel - young adult/juvenile division. We ranch in eastern Nevada (Lincoln, Co.) where we raise black brangus cows and where I teach 6,7,8 grade at Pahranagat Valley Middle School in Alamo, NV
