Something About Me and My Book:
I have multiple sleuths and probably a split personality. Bridget O'Hern is an amateur sleuth. She "seeks her bliss" and stumbles across dead bodies along the way. In her professional life, she does what I do, also, consult with nonprofits and write grants. In fact, I've written over fifty million in funded grants during my career. "Bridg" has appeared in Death Stalks the Khmer and Death Comes Too Soon. And she's heavily involved, having fun and some deadly experiences in Death Tours in Ireland.
Another of my protagonists is Gus Maloney, an ex-cop, an "alkie" and homeless, now the unofficial mayor of the homeless camp, Mudflat Manor, uses his old cop skills in "What Price Retribution?" This story will be out in the Akashic Press City Noir Series this spring. Seattle Noir will get a big welcome in the rainy city of the Seahawks and Mariners.
I also have a Golden Age sleuth, Alice Winthrope, who in her travels in the 1930's visiting her barrister nephew Winston, finds human nature intriguing and murders a delightful challenge to her intellect and snoopiness. She's currently on the Carribean island of Antigua, where she's solving "A Rum Mystery." Of course, I had to attend the Antigua and Barbuda Caribbean Literary Festival. This research is such hard work. Note, the pix of me taken on a small, sandspit island off the western coat of Antigua. You can see I have a proprietor's mindset.

Hi Patrician,
I'm a Pacific Northwesterner myself--trying to get acquainted in this group. Your books sound like good reads--love the idea of the "golden age" sleuth! I just had my first novel (Cowgirl Dreams) published. Very exciting!
My target buyer right now are the churches, I think maybe because I had a table at one of their functions. I think the attraction was not only the colors but the concept of teaching kids manners. I want to target the headstart programs and daycares. I just joined my local chamber of commerce this should help with the networking.
You'll be fine, many sleepless nights but plenty of rewards. If you don't already have an ISBN start with http://www.createspace.com. They have so many different formats, I have a graphic guy do this for me in photoshop and adobe. But createspace will give you the ISBN so when you put it on LuLu, your all set. The only thing I get frustrated with is the different variations in format, my printer wants this, createspace wants something else etc. One thing at at time and write it down with date and time. Good Luck
Oh and how could I forget, you can put your book on LuLu.com as an ebook for free. They do print options to but they cost. The ebook is free though and you charge what you want for the book and of course they get a cut.
I not a full blown publisher, I just started my company to be able to start publishing my own books. I will tell you I do cheat every now and again, I will use createspace.com (they are free) to publish my books to get them on Amazon but of course they get their cut, then I take the book to my printer Keystone digital press.com and he prints for me. The best thing about createspace.com is you can use your own ISBN or they will provide. I will help you with whatever I can, whatever I can do.
