- Retired high school and college English and journalism teacher; former newspaper columnist; writer of two literature and historical novel about World War II (Wild Hands Toward the Sky and Iwo Blasted Again) and a recently released novel (With the Silent Knowledge) set in a maximum-security prison in southern Illinois in the the early 1970s.
