In April 2001 college junior Parker Shaw is trying to determine what he will do with the rest of his life. His father, a retired federal judge, urges him to go into law. A strange dream, in which he is a sixteenth-century Indian warrior pursued by three vaqueros who shoot him to death, jolts him from his normal life and sends him on a journey of self-realization. Parker takes a road trip to the American Southwest where he comes face to face with an old Indian medicine man who resembles an apparition he saw four years ago. The medicine man's words lead Parker to Washington D.C. on September 11, 2011 where he has a rendezvous with destiny.
Warrior’s Song is my first novel. I derived the background story from my time as a student at the University of Virginia, where I studied government and political theory. The characters are animated through previous acquaintances and I have lived in many of the locations included in the book.
