My latest endeavor, The Brat Chronicles, is a comical novel about a military family, living in Germany during the early 1970’s, and was published December, 2006 by Literary Road out of Seattle, Washington. It is available for purchase through their web page at www.literaryroad.com, or through Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The E-book is available through Mobipocket.
I’ve been involved in the arts for most of my adult life. I studied Art and Creative Writing at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where I was editor of the student newspaper. I went on to become the editorial cartoonist for The Daily Texan at the University of Texas.
Upon leaving college, I achieved some critical acclaim for my series of full-color, cartoon, political posters, one of which was placed in the political memorabilia archives at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library.
During the 1990’s, my cartoon strip, The New West, was published by Country City Music News magazine out of Nashville, Tennessee.
I am co-author of a play entitled Tarot Terror for an independent filmmaker, and wrote and illustrated a comic book for the Texas Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Like most authors, I have a “day job”, and work as a Rehab Technology Specialist for the State of Texas, where I assist people with disabilities.

Hello, I'm Bert Martinez, I'm looking to network with success minded authors. If you would like my free report 30 Strategies for Selling More Books just fill out the form below. I look forward to networking with you and if there is anything that I can help you with please do not hesitate to contact me.
Michael,
I'm not self publishing. I have an agent and we'll begin editing in the next month or two. I'm trying to develop my own marketing plan to help reel in a publisher. Funny thing is that I can't find an example of a book marketing plan anywhere. I see signs of great plans but the author of those wants you to buy their material first. I don't mind the work. I just need to know what to work on. Any guidance is most appreciated.
Hey Michael, I'm in Austin too. I'm the author of Critical Choices That Change Lives. It won several awards last year and is selling in India, Indonesia, Romania and the Slovak Rebpublic. I'd like to compare notes with you about e-publishing. I had my book e-published by Rosetta Solutions in a way that is compatible with all the e-book readers. But they never really promoted the book very hard. All of my sales have been the traditional sale of tangible books - approx. 20,000 to date.
Let me know if you want to do lunch.
