Something About Me and My Book:
Originally from PA, I moved to the west coast of Florida 15 years ago where I met my husband. In 1998 we moved to South Florida and welcomed our son Nicolas into our lives. I am now an author of woman's fiction and children's poetry. My dream is to not only have my novels published but I want to pursue the possibility of making them into movies. With the right person or team by my side I know this could be an option. I am currently writing my 2nd novel, "The Other side of You." Both stories follow the lives of very strong women who are completely different, but overcome tragedy only to triumph in the end. My other writing interests include romantic poetry, inspirational verse, and children’s stories. I am proud to say that my poetry has been published in two coffee table books and because of this accomplishment I received the Editors Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry two years in a row.

"She Cries in the Dark" - A Woman's Fiction Novel-
Maci Sullivan is beautiful young wife and mother who had everything she could ever want. A loving devoted husband, two happy, healthy twin six year olds, and a wonderful family. But when things seem to be going great, a series of life altering events will take place which leave Maci thrown into a whirlwind of grief and heartache she never thought possible. A nightmare was lurking around every corner that Maci was not able to awake from. After discovering a secret that leaves Maci questioning the life and love she once shared with her husband she finds solace and comfort in the arms of another man. Not able to hide their feelings for one another any longer, the two embark on a journey that will allow two people that have lost so much, the opportunity to once again experience the joy of love and passion.

"Lots of Giggles and Hugs"
What do you get when you mix a bunch of cute little animals and birds with some silly insects? “Lots Giggles and Hugs” that’s what you get. Children will have a great time learning how to deal with some important issues that they might be faced with in their young lives, with the help of some friendly animal characters. This book of twelve short stories is written in poem form to make it easier for kids to relate to and remember. Parents and teachers will really enjoy reading time when they sit down and share the adventures in this book with the children. So come along with Daisy, Sully, Joey Bear and the rest of the gang, into a world specifically geared towards helping children overcome every day situations that might be otherwise difficult for some adults to try to explain- in a way that kids will understand. This book will really make learning to read fun!

Debi DeSantis's Blog

looking for some tips on how to market a book the right way

I have been trying to sign up for as many blog websites as possible, hoping that some of the millions of people that visit these sites will actually want to read my books. Any other avenues I can pursue???

I would love to hear any other suggestions. Also if anyone knows how to turn a Woman's Fiction novel into a Lifetime movie (lol) or something close, please feel free to share.

Thanks

Debi

GENTLE RAINS

A TIME TO HEAL WITH GENTLE RAINS
THEIR SOUND IS SOFT AND SWEET
THEY HEAL A DEAD AND LONELY HEART
OR THOSE WHO FACE DEFEAT
THE SOFT CARESS OF RAIN DROPS
THE DEEPENED THUNDERS ROAR
I'LL LISTEN TO MY GENTLE RAINS
TILL I FEEL PAIN NO MORE

Hi Debi,

I think you may be interested in FL Writers Assn.
It's a wonderful group for learning, networking, and submitting work to the quarterly magazine. It's actually not only for Florida any more. We have national and even a few international members!

If you'd like to check it out, please come to http://www.floridawriters.net.

I also run the FL Authors online group at bookmarket. You can join it, regardless of your FWA affiliation.

Have a good week,
Shara

I haven't written any dramatic film scripts, although I've shot a lot of those films. Most of my work is in idnustrial and promotional video production and TV commercials.
