Something About Me and My Book:: Born in Minnesota; also lived in North Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, Massachusetts, California, Okinawa and now reside in Tucson, Arizona. Married Foy Willing of the Riders of the Purple Sage, a country/western singing group nationally famous in the 1940s/1950s on radio, recordings, and "B" western movies with Monte Hale and Roy Rogers. Foy died in 1978 and four years ago I decided to write his biography. "No One to Cry To, a Long, Hard Ride into the Sunset with Foy Willing of the Riders of the Purple Sage" was published in October 2006, and I am now looking for a screenwriter in the hopes that a movie option will be picked up. In just eight months since publication, NOTCT has won three awards, the most recent being a 2007 Association for Recorded Sound Collections "Award for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research." The Certificate of Merit was given for Best Research in Recorded Country Music. NOTCT is the story of a musical genius, his phenomenal rise to stardom, its turbulent decline due to his problems with alcohol and drugs, and his ultimate striving for a new musical career, only to be stopped short at its imminent pinnacle. It's also a story of a love so great it has transcended time. NOTCT is published by Wheatmark, Inc., and also available through Amazon.com and other web sites, and retail stores by request.
