For Authors, Publishers, Agents and Publicists--Opportunity in Sept

Greetings! I am the founder for National Invisible Chronic Illness
Awareness Week, held annually in Sept. This year it is
Sept 10-16, 2007.

As an publisher, author, and writer of many articles, I know how well a timely event can help one gain the attention
of the media that may be more challenging during other times of the year.

I'm contacting you to let you know National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week is an excellent time for authors to
inform radio, TV, and print media of a slant their book may
have to tie in with this event, which is held annually in September.

For your convenience, I have included a posting below that would be appropriate for a blog or ezine to let other writers know. More information, including a sample press release and ways to contact media are at http://www.invisibleilness.com .

We would love to see bookstores create displays of illness-related books and for authors to be able to use this opportunity to create more interest in their topic.

======================================= PITCH YOUR BOOK DURING SEPTEMBER'S
NATIONAL INVISIBLE CHRONIC ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK!
-----------------------------------------------------
Did you know...
Nearly 1 IN 2 PEOPLE LIVE WITH ILLNESS?
And 96% of it invisible!
----------------------------------------------------

Held annually in Sept, this year's NICIAW is September 10-16, 2007. Nearly any book can be given a twist on reaching the
needs of the chronically ill--such as marriage, parenting,
pursuing one's dreams, getting through difficult times,
financial planning, caregiving, stress, dating, dieting,
self-esteem, fashion, controlling the clutter, one's career,
exercise, and much more.

As a writer/author, now is a great time to plan radio interviews, television appearances, or just distribute a press release or articles online. For more information about this week see
http://www.invisibleillness.com . Promotional materials are
available for print (free) or purchase (low-priced) if you
wish to include them with press-packets. Help us encourage
bookstore owners to create book displays (with your book of
course!) and call up that media to pitch your illness-related
'hook' today! For statistics, quotes and more to help create
your story idea see http://www.invisibleillness.com

NICIAW's committe is also collecting quotes about why Invisible Illness Week is needed. To have your quote considered send it to lisa@invisibleillness.com . It may just end up in
our next press release!

=======================================

Thank you so much for your assistance in helping us spread the word about Invisible Illness Week. So many books and articles can be beneficial to the chronically ill, and as an author I have had great sucess in using this event to gain media exposure.

I hope your audience has the same response! Respectfully,

Lisa Copen
