New Article: Magic Words that Sell Books

I came across an amazing book called "The First Hundred Million" that everyone in publishing should, in my opinion, study carefully.

It was written by a man named E. Haldeman-Julius, who in the 1920s published and sold 100 million "Little Blue Books." Simon & Schuster asked him to write up the story of how he did so, and the book "The First Hundred Million" is about what he learned.

I recently posted an article that talks about some of the "magical words" he discovered in his analysis of book titles. Oh yes, I should mention--he sold his books on title alone. And he analyzed what changes of words made books sell or not sell. He sold 100 million more books after he wrote The First Hundred Million.

Read "Magic Words that Make Books Sell" to find out just some of what Haldeman-Julius discovered after he sent books to "the Hospital" to be revived with new titles.

(If you're so inclined, you can also get a copy of "The First Hundred Million" book itself in downloadable, digital format. It's a fascinating read!)
