The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

While searching the web a few weeks ago for illustrators, which I found out a publisher gets for your work in a children's book should you ever break through the barrier, I found one of the truest statements about being an author.

For most of us it's a hobby. We work other jobs while trying to make our dreams come true. I always tell everyone. Write because you love it. Because if you don't, you're doing it for the wrong reasons. For me, writing is the greatest therapy I've ever found.

I live with a quality of life disease interstitial cystitis; and I can be having a spell and forget all about it by turning pages of research or tapping away at my computer keys. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about in this beautiful gift we give ourselves Always keep that in mind.

Touche Kevin. Writing for me was a way to deal with an avalanche of painful experiences, sort through them and discover the "Blessings in the Mire." There were days when I would peck at the keyboard and forget to eat, shower, or to feel any of the pain. I wrote, literally, all night long and into the day and back into the next night. I was obsessed as I typed out y emotion and my thought onto the monitor. When I was done, I was done. There was no need to strike another key on that subject. If I never published the book, it would have been okay. It had been the catalyst for my personal growth and healing, and had been a way to organize my SELF. Having just published the book, I am hoping others may benefit, and will decide to 'write the wrongs.' ;-) Peace to you! Keep writing. Jan
