The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Earlier this year I decided to "fire" Internet Explorer 7.0. It was crashing too often, hanging up too much, and I could never configure an interface that was most useful to me. I've been using Firefox as my browser and couldn't be happier -- it's everything a browser should be. The coolest thing about Firefox is the large number of plug-ins offered.

I've just downloaded a new plug-in called SearchStatus. For every site you visit, SearchStatus lets you view its Google PageRank, Google Category, Alexa popularity ranking, Compete.com ranking, Alexa incoming links, Alexa related links and backward links from Google, Yahoo! and MSN. This combined search-related information means you can view not only the link importance of a site (according to Google), but also its traffic importance (according to Alexa).
Since I'm always seeking the Google Page Rank and Alexis rank of many sites I visit, I've found this tool to be very handy. Best of all, it appears unobtrusively at the bottom of the browser on the status bar.
