Where the Spirit of the Lord Is, There Is Freedom!

What do you think of when you hear the word freedom? Obviously everyone pictures it completely different, right? You may imagine doing anything you would love at any time without any hindrance of finances, time or ties. You would not notice any angry, envious or judgmental glances; nor would you care! You'd just be free as an eagle and loving every single moment!

It's comforting to know that it's not all up to you to work out your salvation and get it all right. You're not left alone to come against all the temptations rushing at you and trying to take you out of communion with God. Jesus said that He would send you the Comforter.

"Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (John 15: 17-18)

The Holy Spirit is your comforter, your encourager, and your wisdom in time of need. Without the Holy Spirit you cannot even interpret the Bible! You may have committed many verses to memory, but without the Holy Spirit the Bible can only be interpreted by your intellect.

He "helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought. He maketh intercession for the saints (that's you!) according to the will of God." (Rom. 8: 26; 27)

Just as Jesus had to draw his disciples apart to explain his parables, so the Holy Spirit shares revelation with you that is far beyond the human intellect. Jesus spoke in parables so that only the chosen ones would understand. Those who heard but did not have a hunger to know the things of God were not given the key to unlock the hidden Truths.

Peter had a revelation when he blurted out that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. He could not have known that in the natural at that time. It was revealed to him by the Father through the Holy Spirit. (Mat. 16: 16-17)

Jesus referred to Peter's revelation as the foundation, or rock (the meaning of Peter's name) on which the Church would be built. Jesus promised to give Peter and the church (you and me) the keys of the Kingdom of heaven. That would come after the resurrection, when the Holy Spirit was released at Pentecost. These keys are the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit.

There is no revelation, power or freedom without the precious Holy Spirit. You may have been saved, but are you experiencing spiritual breakthroughs in your life? Are you experiencing the effects of binding and loosing in the spirit? In other words, are you free?

True freedom comes when you're walking in the Spirit. As you invite the Holy Spirit into your life you will find that the struggle against sin, sickness, and everything the world throws at you is no longer your battle. The more you are allowing yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit, the more of God's Power will be revealed in your life. The more you come to know God, the closer your walk with Him, and the more freedom you have. Then you come to realize that true freedom is not doing whatever you think in your mind is great.

Freedom is being totally led by Him, trusting in His guidance, and making use of all His Gifts. All the keys of the Kingdom have been made available to you.

Pray that "the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon [you], the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; and shall make [you] of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and [you] shall not judge after the sight of [your] eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of [your] ears," (Isa. 11: 2-3)

Seek and enjoy your freedom now. It's God's legacy to you, the church! You do not have to wait until: "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." (Isa. 11: 9)
