Have you ever thought that Satan doesn't want you to hear he words "paid in full"? I mean really, he doesn't want you to have a word of hope or encouragement! He is filled with joy every time you are depressed and discouraged or loose hope!

After all his is known as "the father of all lies" isn't he? In Acts 5:3 we see Peter's response to Ananias when he told Peter a lie. Notice what the passage says, "But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie".

Satan is a whole lot like the Medical billing service in this little story! "Mom was getting swamped with calls from strangers. The reason? A medical billing service had launched an 800 number that was identical to hers. When she called to complain, they told her to get a new number. "I've had mine for twenty years," she pleaded. "Couldn't you change yours?" They refused. So Mom said, "Fine. From now on I'm going to tell everyone who calls that their bill is paid in full." The company got a new number the next day."

Our God is not like that at all! He promises us eternal life, he gives us hope, he lifts us up when we are discouraged, and because we know we can trust His Word. Paul writes about our hope to the young preacher Titus. Notice what he says about how we live our lives in Titus 1:2. He says we live "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began"

We live "In hope of eternal life, which God, THAT CANNOT LIE, promised!" WOW! What a glorious promise! If we can understand that just a little, we can survive anything that Satan throws at us. John wrote in 1 John 4:10, "This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."

He doesn't want us to hear that proclamation, "Paid in full"! He wants us to keep on worrying about the bill sin puts on us. He wants us to continue to worry about how to pay that debt ourselves! He wants us to try and earn the right to go to heaven all by our selves. But the simple truth is we can't. There is only one way to get eternal life! It is through the free gift of eternal life, through meeting the blood of Jesus and having our sins washed away!

If you remember nothing else in this life, remember these words, "PAID IN FULL"! Jesus died to pay for our sins and asks only our love and obedience in return!
