BROKEN SOULS

SHORT LOGLINE:

A young girl in the 1950s must leave her strict sheltered home and face the cruel, harsh realities of the modern world. In the process she learns to overcome tragedy and to find her place as a true woman of today.

SHORT SYNOPSIS:

I was very much a child of the 50's. I attended private school and was constantly under pressure from my strict parents that believed being " sheltered" from the world was only way to live a pure and healthy life. I was repressed in everything that I did and as I grew up in this environment. I was never exposed to any of the harsh realities that most modern children of today can see by just turning on a television set.

But the day finally came, that I had to leave my hometown. I had to leave this blanket of comfort that, unbeknownst to me, was smothering all of my social develpment. I was married very young, still a child in mind and body, and I was thrown into the city and the hard tough world that I could not understand, nor could I cope with alone.

During this time, I eventually met another woman, similar to me, and she became my guardian angel. With her help, and by making the hard decisions I was able to overcome tragedy in my life and become the person I am today.

This screenplay tells my story. A story of how parents can mean well, while doing harm that may take years to overcome. This screenplay send a positive message to parents who intend to place their children in private schools or home school, as well as our politicians. And finally this may help us to see that we need some guidelines to protect the mental well-being of our children.

Broken Souls by: James Labudde is based on my true-life story: The Torments of the Modest, Secluded Farm Life. ISBN: 1-58721-806-2. By; Doris Anne Beaulieu.

We need to help all our children to grow up whole not only physically but mentally as well. They are our future adults. The book has been put into screenplay format for producers so the story can help many parents.
Thank you for caring;

Hi there Doris, its so interesting to read about your life, I would love to read the whole story . Parents are an amazing influence on life and they are so often misguided in their beliefs , breaking the mould and learning the toughest lessons are the way to survive and its great you turned all the negativity into positive work that can now help others.
Its a pleasure to meet you here
love and light
