Across a crowded room

Amongst a sea of faces –

Yours is a beacon, calling out to me.

Like a weary traveler,

I long to take refuge in the safe haven of your

arms – but,

Will they be as open to me as your face is?

What could you offer me that I don’t already

have?

What promises do your eyes hold?

And what happens if I’ve been bad?

I saw you for the first time today, but we’d met

before

In that special place – where dreams rule,

And reality is an out-cast!

I long to take the chance, what am I going to

lose?

I gather my courage

And begin to move towards you.

Your eyes hold mine, magnetic, hypnotic

I feel like a moth,

Being drawn towards the flame

Will you be the light-house in the tempest of

my life?

Or, am I going to discover that you are just a

mirage –

In the ever changing sands of time?
