Alter egos-do you have one? Karen Malena does!

Did you know I have an alter ego?

Yes, I do. Her name is Piggy and she’s an eight year old cat.

It all began with my son, Matt, a semi-viral YouTuber. Somehow his chubby cat, Piggy warmed her way into the heart of his fans.

Matt is the master of claw machines and has a huge following with people of all ages. His video tips at winning those pesky crane machines have helped countless people win at a game which was thought to be rigged for many years. Or as my son says, “rigarooed.”

It was during one of his live blog shows that Piggy the cat began attracting attention. Her cute demeanor, her frisky ways, and her love of all things food, earned her a place of honor in Matt’s shows. He decided to dedicate a Facebook page to her, and made me the administrator of it.

Every day I try to post in cat lingo. What would Piggy want to say to her friends and fans today? Perhaps Piggy might like to share some photos of her cute little self. Maybe Piggy’s peeps would like to ask her a few questions. It’s been extremely fun thinking like a cat.

When I’m visiting my son and the “real” Piggy, I watch her traits and nuances. I cuddle with her and listen to her purring, speaking to her as if she really understands me. We do understand one another. After all, I am her and she is me. Well, you get the picture.

For Christmas last year, I had a Twelve Days of Christmas post on her page. Her fans just loved it and I’ve already been asked if we’re doing something similar this year.

The cutest posts come from the younger kids who really believe they’re speaking to a cat. They post pictures of their own furry friends on her page in hopes that she’ll comment on them. She always does. Piggy loves her fans.

Stop by her Facebook page and give it a like. I guarantee you’ll come away smiling.
