What does it mean to truly rest, or restore one's self?

defines 'rest' as
“Peace, ease, or refreshment resulting from sleep or the cessation
of an activity.” An extended concept of this term, 'restoration',
is “the act of restoring or state of being restored, as to a former
or original condition, place, etc.” More often than not, most
people won't take
the time to rest and restore until the need is felt.
The felt need for restoration is no doubt in response to accumulated
stress.
Even though it is wise to listen to the body-temple's call for good health practices, it is the practice of proactive endeavors that go a long(er) way
towards longevity and well being. While the body signals when rest is
required, by various evidence of symptomatic indications, it is the
soul (internal, true self) that must be continuously restored. The
soul is one's creative energy force of consciousness, yet the
