Best-Selling Author Marsha Hubler Just Released The Third Novel In "The Loves Of Snyder County" Series, "Love Song For Louellen""

John Friesen and his sister Valerie, whom you met in BACHELOR’S CHOICE and TEACHER’S PET, come from a strong Mennonite family in Snyder County, central PA. But their parents, Eli and Louellen, were at one time Old Order Amish. In this flashback, LOVE SONG FOR LOUELLEN, find out what caused the Friesens to leave their Ordnung and join a local Mennonite church.

Twenty-five-year-old Amish woman Louellen Friesen finds herself falling in love with an “English” doctor, David McAndrew, for whom she cleans every Saturday. But there’s one big problem. She’s married to an Amish man, Eli, who provides for all of Louellen’s needs but shows her no love or affection. Their relationship is also strained because after three years, God has not given them any children. Louellen thinks she is the reason, but Eli has the sterile problem, a secret he has not shared with anyone because of his pride. Unknown to each other, both Louellen and Eli question their Ordnung’s rules, which forbid owning vehicles, having electricity, and enjoying some simple pleasures in life. They both desire to know God on a personal level and begin searching the scriptures for the truth.

Dr. McAndrew, a widower of ten years and father of two teen girls, finds himself falling in love with Louellen even though he knows she’s married. David’s daughters, Andrea and Jenna, also adore Louellen and set out to “de-Amish” her, hoping she’ll leave her faith and husband and marry their dad.

But at a church service, Louellen, Andrea, and Jenna hear the gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time and their lives are changed forever. Louellen leaves her job at the McAndrews’ home and determines to win her husband by being a submissive godly wife. Andrea and Jenna start growing in their faith and encourage their father to attend church with them.

Through the counseling of a local pastor, Eli accepts the Lord. Louellen gives birth to her first child, whom she names John. Realizing that the Amish religion does not embrace the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Eli and Louellen determine to establish a godly heritage for their children and grandchildren by leaving the Ordnung, becoming Mennonites, and living godly lives for Christ.
