"Bearable Indifference- God’s Cotton Candy"

Blackberry Devotion

Monday July 19, 2010

There are some things in my life that I must deal with because I have to... I live in on an Estate and I have to pay taxes, I work in America and I have to pay taxes,
I live in the Mountains and I have to pay taxes.....wait a min this devotion is
not about paying taxes.... it is about something that I DON'T LIKE....(Hmmmmmm
to be honest, EACH of us have "idiocratic behaviors" or peculiarities
that we only let ourselves know about or those very very close to us....one of
mine is that I LOVE PEANUT AND JELLY Sandwiches....but I HATE SPREADING anything
on BREAD....go figure....Diannette has been making my sandwiches for 30
years... NOW I am hungry.... HAH)

CLOUDS, yes those usually white or grayish white "matter" that skimpily floats in the air like GOD's COTTON CANDY.

Well... there is a passion behind my dislike for Clouds....but let me finish.

I am a Motorcyclist. I love "Biking" as we riders call it, I love the pleasure of riding through the Countryside or Citywide wherever my travels has or will
take me.

However, CLOUDS, have RUINED a few planned trips. WHY? Sometimes clouds are FILLED with the substance of life. To a Biker...rain is a damper, a show stopper sometimes
can ruin a complete vacation.... HOWEVER we all need a little rain in our
lives....just not when you are on a bike. (Riding a BIKE in the rain is like
having someone “shoot you will a pellet gun” all over your body….or “wetting
yourself” all over your body….LOLOL) either or!

Well... Bearable Indifference.

5 Days ago MY DIANNETTE and I, yes she is a BIKER BABE..., were on the road and it was a BEAUTIFUL HOT DAY.... on the highway it had to be about 104-107
degrees and with the Bike's engine shooting it's hot air upwards in
"traffic". The Heat was hard to take. I was stuck in traffic and I
thought...Lord I need a Children of Israel "experience".

Exodus 13:21

King James Bible

"And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and
night:"

I prayed for a CLOUD!

With the Children of Israel in the African HEAT GOD caused a Cloud to guide them...however that Cloud always caused a breeze, NATURAL AIR CONDITIONING,
and a "cover" from the Sun's heat for the travels through the
African HEAT. (I FEEL THE PREACHING MOMENT… COMING ON NOW...) In the African
desert and other dry humid places on this wonderful planet...it can become
INTOLERABLE during the day and CRAZY COLD at night....there by a Pillar of
FIRE...to keep them warmed and give them light. (24 hour days in the
Wilderness) SELAH!

24 HOURS of daytime in YOUR WILDERNESS.

Let me get back to my story before I lose my mind just thinking about all the times in some of MY wilderness experiences that GOD kept me warmed at night and
comforted during the day, EVEN when I thought HE had left me ALL alone to FEND
for myself. HE WAS there… ALL THE TIME. PROVIDING. What I needed.

Hmmmmmm…..Hmmmmmmmm…..MY GOD…!!! THANK YOU BIG GOD.

I prayed for a Cloud, it was a day where there was God’s cotton candy sprinkled throughout the sky and I was keeping an “eye” out for them because I didn’t want
them to turn into “rain clouds”.

It was HOT. IT WAS HOT as H…E…. double hockey sticks (as my son Warren would say)

I prayed for a CLOUD. I prayed for something that I would normally ask GOD to keep away, I prayed for something that I wanted to control but HAD NO CONTROL
OVER… I prayed for something that ONLY GOD could do, I prayed for something
that on any other given day I would be “mumbling under my breathe” against the
existence of God’s COTTON CANDY. I prayed for a Bearable Indifference.

This particular day because, of the heat, I rode to NYC by way of the Palisades Parkway. This Parkway is lined with another of GOD’s wonders…. TREES. These
Trees cover the road, they are tall and they provide shade for most of the 40
miles of Parkway from the Mountains into New York City.

However by the time I got to the GW Bridge traffic had stopped the flow of riding and the HEAT was…. Well you know…what I said before….

I prayed for a Cloud!

I prayed for a CLOUD. Taking the Palisades Parkway you are led to the GWB’s Upper level entrance ramp. NO COVER. It was HOT and I PRAYED FOR A CLOUD.

Isn’t it good to know that God does not always gives us the answers to all of our wants and desires, for sometimes, we ask for, work for, desire things and stuff that will only bring us into the slavery
of its existence and to our pleasures of “wanting” it. (another sermon right
there!!!)

SIDEBAR: This has nothing to do with my DESIRE for an IPHONE 4 and IPAD. Two very different things here…don’t get it twisted…!!!

I prayed for a CLOUD….

OUT OF NOWHERE…ONLY this can GOD Himself orchestrate, a CLOUD shows up in the pathway of the sun’s rays that were “beaming” down on us. This COTTON CANDY was
delicious. See, going across the GWBridge is already a COOLING experience
because of the water located beneath it, So with God’s cotton candy providing
shade and a fresh cooling breeze flowing from beneath us…. MY DIANNETTE and I
were “cooled, the bike was cooled” and THIS CLOUD followed us all the way to
our destination without… sharing it’s tears within.

I still have an “slight disparity” for the appearance of God’s Cotton candy, especially when they can ruin a good day of riding, HOWEVER I am thanking GOD
for the Blessing, for within the range of WHY HE created CLOUDS, He thought
about that which could cause “sweet comfort” during a time when the HEAT of the
DAY could have “taken” me out!

Clouds. “God’s Cotton Candy”. A Bearable Indifference.
