The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

When you go to a purchase site for books, are the reviews important to you?

Is the review what determines whether or not you will buy a book?

Does it seem like all the reviewers lately are just friends of the author who have left reviews?

All of these are important questions when asking yourself if it is important to promote your book via book reviews.  Amazon seems to be the place where most of the reviews are from friends or acquaintances . So where else do you look for reviews?

With the internet being such a great part of everyone's life there are tons of blogs out there who are reviewing books.  How do you connect with them?  I start out by sending them a contact email via their contact buttons.  Do I think reviews help sell books?

Yes

Do I think reviews are the only thing that sells books?

No

I think word of mouth helps, great promotions help, the book itself is a huge factor.  Too many factors to list them all..

If your looking for a review..try Googling Book Reviewers (or try it on facebook also, tons of reviewers and review groups there)

I want to conclude my post by saying that I am personally more likely to buy a book that has more reviews left on it, than I am with one that has less reviews.
