I'm an author and public speaker, working with college students, social justice advocates, and educators through lectures, film presentations, and workshops to work toward the elimination of racism and oppression. My books are Inheriting the Trade: A Northern Family Confronts Its Legacy as the Largest Slave-Trading Dynasty in U.S. History (2008, Beacon Press), and Gather at the Table: The Healing Journey of a Daughter of Slavery and a Son of the Slave Trade, co-authored with Sharon Leslie Morgan (2012, Beacon Press).
