In chapter six, proverbs number eleven; it reads:

Do not be afraid of work. Work is silently working for you in more ways than you can imagine. Work is developing you, helping others and accumulating rewards for you, all at the same time. A person may be able to determine how much they develop themselves by working and how much they are developing others. However, they cannot determine the magnitude of rewards they will obtain by working. Work can reward you spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, favorably and in many more ways. An important key is, “If you work in excellence, you will get excellent benefits, if you work in mediocrity you will get mediocre benefits and if you work poorly, you will get poor benefits. Focus on excellent work and the results will automatically follow.

What inspired the author to write the book:

The Holy Spirit inspired me to write the book by depositing a few proverbs into my mind. He told me to write a book and call it Practical Proverbs for Everyday Living. I responded by saying, five or six proverbs cannot fill a book. He said to me, if you do not write the ones I have given you, then how do you expect me to give you more. I immediately wrote them down and he continuously poured more into me for many days thereafter.

About the author:

Lawrence Elliott was born in one of the beautiful islands of the Bahamas called New Providence. He is married to a lovely lady named Deborah. His passion is to teach principles of life that will help people to live a more fulfilled life. He loves to give people practical wisdom keys that would help make their life more effective. Currently he volunteers teaching biblical principles of life to junior high school boys in a club called the Christian boy’s movement.
