EXCERPT FROM MY BOOK DAILY REMINDERS
AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.COM(details on free kindle version)
Days after my discharge from the hospital my father told me that I had been at deaths door, and the reason the door was closed was because the Good Lord wasn’t finished with me and that I still had work he needed me to do.
I’ve yet to recognize exactly what work it is that the Lord wanted me to do. I may never know. Perhaps it was becoming a mentor to a couple of teenagers one summer as they helped volunteer at the food pantry, or possibly to continue at the pantry as they help furnish food to those in our community who are less fortunate.
Whatever the reason, whatever plan He had or still has for me, everyday as I lay my head down on my pillow I give thanks for all the blessings I have been given. Despite any hardships faced during a given day, there are still a multitude of things to be thankful for-having enough food to eat and clothes to wear, having a secure roof overhead to protect me from the elements.

These are just some of the many things that we all can be thankful for.
When dark times appear, we must remain focused on the light that will soon shine. When it does, and it will, make it a priority to give thanks for all of the daily reminders that He has provided.
